Plasmid.AI: An intelligent platform to write new life — Team Presentation
02What happened
The year
Plasmid.AI applied machine learning to plasmid design, with antibiotic-resistant infection as the target application. Against more than 400 teams from 48 countries, it took Gold, won both Best Model and Best Entrepreneurship, and placed in the Top 10 of the overgraduate section — the chapter's best result to that point. At 67 members it remains the largest team iGEM Toronto has fielded, and it was the first year the chapter ran a formal entrepreneurship division, which went on to compete in the U of T Entrepreneurship Hatchery's Demo Week.
